Beverly Hills Chihuahua is a hilarious canine cross country adventure, a live action comedy with amazing animatronics that film and dog fans will lap up.
It tells the story of Chloe (voiced by Drew Barrymore), a spoilt Chihuahua enjoying all the trappings of Hollywood from diamonds sparkling on her collar to the best grooming and gourmet food Tinsel Town can offer. However, she finds herself in a perilous situation when events conspire to take her to Mexico, lost, alone and abandoned.
Chloe is the Beverly Hills Chihuahua. She’s not just any ordinary pet, but a doggie diva who enjoys an extravagant lifestyle, even for Hollywood standards. Chloe’s owner, Viv (Jamie Lee Curtis), has to go away on business, and leaves her ditsy niece Rachel (Piper Perabo) to dog-sit. Chloe’s blissful life is given a bit of a bolt when Rachel decides to take luxury loving Chloe on a raucous holiday to Mexico.
When Rachel heads out for an evening of fun, pampered pooch Chloe sets out to join in, but she finds herself attracting unwanted attention in the form of Mexico City’s notorious dog nappers.
Alone for the first time in her overly pampered life and without a day spa or doggie boutique in sight, Chloe escapes the dog nappers and embarks on the long journey home to 90210 with the help of some unexpected new friends.
Street hardened German Shepherd Delgado (Andy Garcia) and amorous Chihuahua, Papi (George Lopez), lend her a paw to help her discover some home truths about herself on an eventful journey back home, not least unearthing the lost canine kingdom of Chihuahua.
