How do people come up with ideas for inventions?

I think that they must get the idea when they see a need or a problem, and ask, "How could this be fixed? How could this be made easier?" These are creative people who keep their minds open to receiving new ideas. Have you invented anything?

What is a patent?

A patent is a grant issued by the government giving an inventor the right to exclude others from making, using or selling an invention in the United Kingdom.
