Each year, through our partnerships with wish-granting organisations such as the Make-A-Wish Foundation® UK The Walt Disney Company makes thousands of dreams come true for children who are facing life-threatening illnesses. The number one wish of all children with life-threatening illnesses is a trip to a Disney theme park. In 2003, the Company through in-kind services provided over 10 million dollars to help fulfil wishes. The UK Foundation has granted more than 3,000 wishes since it began in 1986 and is currently granting a wish a day.

Disney cast-member quote:
"The Make-A-Wish Foundation not only touches the lives of children and families, but also the lives of cast members at the Disney Resorts. Every time a Make-A-Wish child passes my way I can see the happiness and joy radiating through their eyes. It lets you know that there are good people who truly care about others and making their dreams come true. Thank you, Make-A-Wish Foundation."

Quote from Make-A-Wish® Foundation UK:
Kimberley is a lovely girl, says Make-A-Wishs regional manager, Mariam Macci, who loves to dress up, loves shopping in the Disney Store and wanted to have her nails manicured and a make-over. With lots of help from Disney we made it happen.

Playhouse Disney Friendship Week
Playhouse Disney Friendship Week took place in February 2004 when children were able to take part in a variety of developmental and fun activities, promoting a new learning experience each day from sharing and giving to play and compassion. As part of this special week, Disney created a pack of goodies, which they sent to various pre-schools around the country. Inside the pack was a Make-A-Wish information pack and a task to design a card for Make-A-Wish based on the spirit of friendship.
The children at Tollesbury Pre-School, Tollesbury, Essex then enjoyed a special prize party this summer after winning the design a card national competition to Their winning design, selected from over 1,100 card submissions, with the help of DisneyHand has been made into a card for Make-A-Wish.
